January 27. 8PM Eastern Standard Time. That’s when viewers will tune in to the live television musical event Rent on Fox.
The Jonathan Larson musical is the latest title to receive the live TV treatment (NBC’s most recent outing was Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert). The cast stars Jordan Fisher as Mark, Vanessa Hudgens as Maureen, Brennin Hunt as Roger, Tinashe as Mimi, Valentina as Angel, Brandon Victor Dixon as Tom Collins, Kiersey Clemons as Joanne, and Mario as Benny, with Keala Settle singing the solo in “Seasons of Love.”

Rounding out the company are Matthew Saldivar (Bernhardt/Hamlet), J. Elaine Marcos (Gettin’ the Band Back Together), Alton Fitzgerald White (The Lion King), Bryce Ryness (Hair), Emerson Collins (Bravo’s The People’s Couch), Jennifer Leigh Warren (Little Shop of Horrors), Debra Cardona (On Your Feet!), Darius Crenshaw (Hello, Dolly!), Khori Petinaud (Moulin Rouge!), Mia DeWeese (The Lucky Ones), Benjamin Rivera (Moulin Rouge!), Robert Roldan (So You Think You Can Dance), Morgan Marcell (Hamilton), Fred Odgaard (Hamilton), Tilly Evans-Krueger (The Lucky Ones), and recent So You Think You Can Dance winner Hannahlei Cabanilla, as well as dancers Jessica Lee Keller, Lenin Fernandez Jr., Nick Lanzisera, Sasha Dominique Mallory, and Ty Wells.
Those with a television—you know like they had in the ’90s—tune in to Fox from 8–11PM ET and 7–10PM Central, but if you’re on the West Coast your viewing will be tape delayed, so hang tight until 8PM PT.
If you’ve cut the cord but have a cable login, you can stream the broadcast on Fox.com. If you're without cable and do not have a cable login, you can stream for 60 minutes before login credentials will be requested. (The full musical will clock in at three hours, so you won’t get the full show with this option.)
The best streaming option is to watch via a Hulu live TV subscription—which will include a free week of live-streaming. Or, YouTube offers a five-day free trial of its live TV edition.
No official announcements have been made about On-Demand availability or repeat showings, but stay tuned to Playbill.com for updates!
