Hello, Dolly! Tony Award winner Gavin Creel will join Tony-winning composer-lyricist Jason Robert Brown May 21 as the special guest for his SubCulture Residency.
“Every month, the list of guests at my SubCulture residency grows to include one more performer who awes and inspires me,” Brown said in a statement. “Nobody sings like Gavin Creel, and nobody fills a song with more humanity and joy and passion. I can’t wait to make music with him.”
Creel earned an Olivier Award for originating the role of Elder Price in the London production of The Book of Mormon. He was Tony-nominated for his performances in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Hair.
Brown earned Tony Awards for The Bridges of Madison County (Best Score, Best Orchestrations) and Parade(Best Score). His works also include Songs for a New World, The Last Five Years, 13, Urban Cowboy, and Honeymoon in Vegas. He is a resident artist at SubCulture, and regularly stages concerts in collaboration with top Broadway talent.
