Emily Bett Rickards, known for her role as Felicity in CW's Arrow, will soon be seen Off-Broadway in Zayd Dohrn’s dark comedy, Reborning. The production, set to play a limited engagement at SoHo Playhouse, marks ten years since the play was seen at the Public Theater's Summer Play Festival.
Reborning follows reborning artist Kelly, whose job is to create lifelike dolls based on real babies—sometimes for collectors, other times for mothers dealing with the loss of their infants. Things take a dramatic turn following a new client commission for a baby, spinning a tale of love, loss, trauma, and the power of creation.
Reborning will play a limited run, co-presented with Vancouver company Reality Curve, July 5–August 3. Official opening is July 12.
Rounding out the cast are Paul Piaskowski (Unspeakable, The Twilight Zone) and Lori Triolo (Riverdale, The 4400), who also directs.
The production is produced by Piaskowski, Darren Lee Cole, and Rebecca McNeil and presented by Playbook Hub with support from Vancouver Film School, The Canada Council for the Arts, and Shimon Photo. Visit ReborningOffbroadway.com.
