Film & TV News Anika Noni Rose to Star in New Thriller Assassination Nation The Tony winner will play the mother of two teenage girls at the center of a media storm.

Anika Noni Rose is set to star in the new film, Assassination Nation. According to Variety, the Tony winner will play the mother of two teenage girls at the center of a media storm, played by R&B singer Abra and Suki Waterhouse.

Written and directed by Sam Levinson, the thriller is set in small-town Salem and follows four teens who are unwittingly thrown into the spotlight after their personal information is leaked by a hacker. Rose’s character will also be attacked by the anonymous hacker, who outs her for her numerous affairs with the town’s married men.

The film will be produced by Foxtail Entertainment co-founders and partners Matthew Malek and Anita Gou, as well as Phantom Four partners David Goyer and Kevin Turen.

Rose won a Tony Award for her role in Caroline, or Change in 2004 and received a Tony nomination in 2014 for her most recent Broadway bow: A Raisin In The Sun.
