Based on the famous Stephen King novel and subsequent film of the same name, MCC Theater's new production of the musical version of
Carrie stars
Molly Ranson as the telekinetic title character, ridiculed and bullied by her peers and held back socially by her ultra-religious mother, played by
Marin Mazzie. Revamped from the original 1988 Broadway production — a notorious flop — this new version of
Carrie is now focused on the coming-of-age drama and high school politics rather than bombast and supernatural special effects. Directed by
Stafford Arima, the show recently got a four-week extension to April 22 at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre. For more information, click
