SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in Lexington Theatre

Company's 2025 Season (See breakdown).

Actors of all cultural and racial backgrounds, gender identities and disabilities are encouraged to audition.

All principal roles will be understudied.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a brief song in the style of one of the shows in the 2025 Season. You may

sing a selection from a show in the season if you like. An accompanist will be provided,

please bring sheet music. Be prepared to move/dance. Please bring a picture and

resume, stapled together.

SEEKING:

PEGGY SAWYER: 20-30, mezzo-soprano with belt (Eb3-E5) Young, talented hopeful from Allentown, PA with big Broadway dreams. An excellent tap dancer with strong theatre jazz technique and a leading lady voice.

DOROTHY BROCK: 40-50, mezzo-soprano with belt (Eb3-E5) Established Broadway star. Moves well and has superb comic timing.


JULIAN MARSH: 40-60, baritone (D3-Ab4) Powerful, intimidating and charismatic Broadway director.


BILLY LAWLOR: 20-40, tenor (C#3-A4) Broadway “juvenile” and lead of “Pretty Lady.” An excellent tap dancer with strong theatre jazz technique and a soaring tenor voice.


MAGGIE JONES: 30-50, character alto (Ab3-Bb4) Half of the writing duo of “Pretty Lady.” Sings and moves well and possess warmth and comedic charm.


BERT BARRY: 30-50, character baritone (C3-D4) Half of the writing duo of “Pretty Lady.” Sings and moves well and possess vaudeville flair and great comedic timing.


ABNER DILLON: 40-60, character baritone (D3-Db4) Wealthy, southern financier and admirer of Dorothy Brock.


ANYTIME ANNIE: 20-30, alto with big belt (Ab3-Bb4) Comedic chorine. A fantastic tap dancer and strong comedienne.


PAT DENNING: 40-50, baritone (D3-Db4) Down-on-his-luck vaudeville performer. Dorothy Brock’s true love. Handsome and charming.


ANDY LEE: 20-30, bari-tenor (Gb3-D4) Dance Director of “Pretty Lady.” A fantastic tap dancer with strong theatre jazz technique.


ADULT ENSEMBLE: Strong Dancer/Singer/Actors with excellent tap technique to play the “Chorus Kids” of “Pretty Lady” AND Strong Singer/Actors to play various supporting roles in the show.


JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT

SEEKING:


NARRATOR: 25-45, mezzo-soprano with strong rock belt (B3-G5) Strong, commanding stage presence. Interacts with the audience, the children and the characters in the play as she narrates Joseph’s story.


JOSEPH: 25-35, tenor with strong rock belt (B2-G4) Jacob’s eleventh and favorite son with a talent for interpreting dreams and telling the future. Confident and charming.


JACOB/POTIPHAR: 50-60, baritone (D2-B3) Doubles as both Joseph’s father, Jacob as well as Potiphar - the self-indulgent Egyptian capitalist.
PHARAOH: 25-35, baritone/tenor (B2-G4) Egyptian ruler troubled by his dreams; has a strong vocal/physical resemblance to Elvis Presley.


BROTHERS: 18-30, baritones and tenors. Will play the other eleven brothers. Featured roles within this group will solo on “One More Angel in Heaven” (country/western), “Canaan Days” (French - Jacques Brel/Maurice Chevalier-esque), “Benjamin Calypso” (in the style of Harry Belafonte). Must be
strong in all three areas - singing, dancing and acting.


ADULT ENSEMBLE: Strong Singer/Actors and Singer/Actor/Dancers to play ensemble roles
including Potiphar’s Wife, the Butler, the Baker, Egyptians, Wives of the Brothers and to understudy
the principal roles listed above.


A CHRISTMAS CAROL: THE MUSICA

SEEKING:


SCROOGE: 45-65, tenor (A3-G5) A man who lost his father to creditors as a kid and has grown up heeding his father's advice to save his money. Until he realizes how terrible he's become, he is a grumpy, unsympathetic man and has no time for anyone or anything.


MARLEY: 45-55, tenor (A3-A5) Scrooge's former business partner who, before his death, was exactly like Scrooge. Comes back as a ghost in chains to warn Scrooge of how his life decisions will bind him in the afterlife.


MR. CRATCHIT: 30-40, baritone (A3-E5) A father and husband who cares deeply for his family, particularly his youngest son. He works hard to provide for them but is mistreated by his employer, Scrooge.


MRS. CRATCHIT: 30-40, mezzo-soprano (A3-E5) Tiny Tim's mother and Mr. Cratchit's wife. She is a loving mother who tries to provide the best for her children with what she's got.
GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST: 40-50, tenor or mezzo (A3-G5) An ever cheerful, sprightly ghost who comes back with the history book of Scrooge's past to show him the events that led to his current state. Doubles as Lamplighter.


GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT: 35-45, tenor (A3-G5) A jovial, larger-than-life ghost who comes back to show Scrooge all the joy, love, and celebration he is missing out on while those around him celebrate Christmas. Doubles as Sandwichboard Man.


GHOST OF CHRISTMAS FUTURE: 50-65, soprano (A3-G5) A beautiful and terrifying wrath, the Ghost of Christmas Future is strong and silent as she shows Scrooge what will happen to him and those around him if he continues down the path he is currently treading. Doubles as Blind Old Hag.


FRED: 25-35, baritone (A3-F5) Scrooge's nephew and only living relative. He is a pleasant young man who believes in the good a joyful Christmas spirit can make in the world.
EMILY: 25-35, soprano (A3-B5) Scrooge's fiancé from when they were young. She is a beautiful girl, not impressed or in need of money.

MR. FEZZIWIG: 55-65, tenor (A3-B5) A portly, jolly man who used to throw a huge Christmas party every year for the community. He was Scrooge's first boss and after teaching him all he knew, he became deeply disappointed in the man Scrooge.


MRS. FEZZIWIG: 55-65, soprano (A3-A5) The consummate hostess and Mr. Fezziwig's wife, she loved to help throw the Christmas party every year. She is prideful.


ADULT ENSEMBLE: Strong Singer/Actors and Singer/Actor/Dancers to play ensemble roles including Scrooge’s Mother, Charity Elves, Bankers, Street Vendors, Sailors, Ghosts, Jailers, Clerks, Monks andmore.


TINY TIM: 9-12, treble voice (A3-E5) Mr. and Mrs. Cratchit's youngest son. He is crippled and sick, butis the definition of loving Christmas spirit. He constantly reminds his family that as long as they allhave each other, they will be happy.
