The Gateway Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County is a professional non-profit theater located roughly 55 miles east of New York City on Long Island in Bellport, NY.

The Gateway School for the Performing Arts is seeking an experienced and energetic teaching artist to add to their team of professionals, with an area of expertise in musical theater. At Gateway, technique is of the utmost importance. The focus is on providing technique training in a fun and accepting atmosphere where students are free to express themselves. Teachers will select appropriate audition songs for students and provide coaching and positive feedback during classes. We enroll students from all over Long Island, with varying interests and levels of training. Many of our students continue to pursue a career in the performing arts after graduation, while others want to have fun and build lasting relationships with fellow students. Students range in age from K-12^th grade.

Ideal candidates enjoy working with young people; are reliable, enthusiastic team players familiar with various acting and musical theater techniques; have experience creating safe, inclusive, and fun learning environments; value accessibility, collaboration, and high-quality arts experiences, as well as excellent teaching, improv, drama-devising, directing, and coaching experience. A minimum of two years’ experience working with students in an arts and education environment required, as well as BA or BFA in theater, musical theater, education, or a related field, or comparable experience.
