Stage Manager for Seussical the Musical

Company: EPIC Players

EPIC Players, a nonprofit, neuro-inclusive theater company, is seeking an organized and experienced Stage Manager for our production of Seussical the Musical. This role is ideal for a Stage Manager who is passionate about inclusive, community-centered theater and thrives in dynamic, collaborative environments.

Show and Rehearsal Details:

  • Auditions and Callbacks: January 8th - January 12th, 2025 (Various locations; weekday evenings and Saturday/Sunday afternoons)
  • Rehearsals:
    • Saturdays: 2:30 - 6:30 pm, Manhattan (beginning January 18th, 2025)
    • Thursdays: 5:30 - 9:30 pm, Brooklyn (beginning January 23rd, 2025)
    • Mondays: 5:30 - 9:30 pm, Brooklyn (beginning January 27th, 2025)
    • Tuesdays: 5:30 - 9:30 pm, Manhattan (beginning February 25th, 2025)
  • Tech Rehearsals and Load-In:
    • Load-In: April 28th - April 29th
    • Tech Rehearsals: April 30th - May 8th (Weekday evenings and weekend mornings/afternoons; schedule finalized by early April 2025)
  • Show Run: May 8th - May 18th
  • Strike: May 18th
  • Location: ART/NY, The Mezzanine Theatre, NYC

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee rehearsal and performance schedules, communicate effectively with cast and crew, and ensure smooth operation throughout the rehearsal and production process.
  • Coordinate with the director, production team, and designers to meet all technical and accessibility requirements, including timely execution of cues.
  • Maintain an inclusive and supportive environment that aligns with EPIC’s mission to represent and uplift neuro-diverse artists.
  • Ensure smooth run of show for actros and team as well as operate and call the board.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a stage manager, ideally in a musical theater setting with a large cast.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working within a neuro-diverse and inclusive theater company.
