DESCRIPTION
Seeking singers who identify as survivors of sexual and domestic violence to share songs that inspired them through their healing journey. Singers will be featured with other performers in Day One's fundraising cabaret.Songs can be from any genre; all that matters is that they hold meaning to you. This night will be a celebration of the strength we find in music, whether it is a song that brought you joy or one that let you be cathartically angry.
Please send a self-tape 32-bar cut of one of the pieces you would like to perform if interested.
There will be two rehearsals leading up to the day of performances. These will be scheduled around performers' availability.
Day One is a non-profit offering services to NYC youth age 24 and under. Our mission is to partner with youth to end dating abuse and domestic violence through community education, supportive services, legal advocacy, and leadership development.
