DESCRIPTION

The award-winning Winnipesaukee Playhouse in Meredith, NH is looking for a male-identifying non-equity actor of color in his 50s – 60s to play Sir Arthur Banks in Witch by Jen Silverman. Sir Arthur is the patriarch (derogatory) in Jen Silverman’s contemporary riff on The Witch of Edmonton, a Jacobean play written in the late 1600s. Tragically bound to the past, Sir Arthur sinks into grief over his dead wife even while he struggles to understand his son Cuddy and ensure his legacy.

The production is part of the Playhouse’s 2024 Professional Season which also features Jersey Boys, La Cage aux Folles, Richard III, In the Heights, and A Year with Frog and Toad.

Contract dates are June 24 – July 20. Pay is $425 per week (W2) for the four-week contract. Compensation also includes workers’ comp insurance, housing, utilities, and a gym membership.
