DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Lighting Designer for the production of “Pandimia: Act of Gods” by Jason Abrams that will premiere at the Midtown International Theatre Festival, taking place from July 6th to August 2nd 2026. We are also submitting ourselves to another festival, and if approved would take place in June 2026. This will be a position that will include:

- Helping to implement lighting cues for a new play at the festival.

- Working with the technical director of the festival to operate their rep plot

- Efficiently working to adapt rehearsal notes to that same rep plot during their tech rehearsal.

- Attending production meetings throughout March, April, and May of 2026 leading up to rehearsals.

- Attending in person rehearsals in May and/or June 2026 TBD (due to a potential second festival taking place in June 2026).

- Be available in person for several performances during the festival in July, and a potential festival in June 2026.

- Create basic lighting ideas for a more limited space.

- Work with the director on how to achieve production goals with the rep plot.

- Run the lighting booth during the performances in June and/or July 2026.

Applicants will be:

- Enthusiastic and hardworking.

- Have extreme attention to detail in their work.

- Bring a positive, collaborative attitude to the production.

- Ability to creatively problem solve during the production of a new play.

- An available, flexible schedule for May-July 2026 depending on dates assigned by the festivals.

- Experienced with working in a lighting booth and running sound cues.
