DESCRIPTION

The Broadway Education Alliance (BEA), a New York-based 501.c3 not-for-profit organization that presents a wide variety of arts education and youth enrichment programs, is seeking resumes from early-career photographer(s) to build our roster of freelancers. Ideal for confident self-starters who thrive in fast-moving environments who can authentically document artists at work and capture dynamic in-rehearsal moments stills and/or video. This is a great opportunity for young professionals looking to gain experience and develop an ongoing relationship with an arts organization.

Key Responsibilities:

· Photograph rehearsals for youth enrichment performing arts programming that entails capturing candid, in-motion, and high-energy moments of performers, typically 7-17 years of age.

· Work independently while following provided shot lists and guidelines.

· Edit and deliver images according to timeline expectations: 24-hour turnaround for initial selects, and 1-week turnaround for the full edited gallery

· Coordinate with staff on scheduling, access, and any required clearances

· Maintain professionalism while working in active rehearsal spaces, often around children and young performers.

Qualifications:

· Experience shooting live performance, rehearsals, or other fast-paced environments

· Portfolio demonstrating in-motion/event photography (not only posed portraits)

· Experience photographing children or comfort working in youth-centered spaces

· Proficiency in photo editing and color correction

· Ability to work efficiently, independently, and discreetly in rehearsal settings

· Experience delivering images for marketing or social media use

· Permission for background check and, potentially, other credentials required to work in youth environments.

Nice to have:

· Familiarity with theatrical rehearsal environments

· Interest in theater and/or arts education a plus

Compensation:
