DESCRIPTION

Chloe, a 16-year-old Mormon girl, works at her Dad's dying record shop. When she begins to grow too fond of their ex-mormon, and long-time employee, Eddy, Chloe begins to question how much longer she can doubt her doubt before she starts doubting her faith.

Set against the backdrop of a record store the Gray Whale, and infused with live records being played, this new play from playwright River Knight seeks to explore faith in response to disillusionment and coming of age. Its uniqueness lies in its unflinching look into an often over-caricatured group, the Mormon people.

This iteration of the play will be immersive and performed in an actual record shop.

REHEARSAL DATE PERIOD: (Schedule still to be determined): May 22-June 20
PERFORMANCE DATES: June 21-22 with a possible extension for June 26-27

We are seeking to fill the following roles:

Eunice (80s): Conservative, loves to gossip, Mormon, and a spiritual giant. Eunice is a regular at the store, maybe even their best customer.

Matthew (50s): Mourning his recently deceased wife, Matthew is a loving, stubborn, and lost man. He is a good bishop of the Mormon Church, but an even better father. He owns the Gray Whale.

These roles are PAID with a stipend of 150 flat. We are, unfortunately, a very small production company attempting to continue developing this play so we are seeking people who are willing to grow with us.

This production is Equity showcase pending.

If you're interested, please send us an email with your headshot, resume, and reel (if you have one). Then, we'll go from there with the audition information!
