DESCRIPTION

Alchemation is seeking a Producing Fellow to help with the daily upkeep of a dynamic commercial producing office and its many productions on Broadway and in development. This position is ideal for an early career applicant with exceptional organizational skills who is excited to learn about the inner workings of a commercial producing and general managment office. Alchemation is a theatrical and media producing company committed to the development and presentation of new work. Founded in 2011, Alchemation has mounted productions on Broadway, the West End, and on tour throughout the United States. Current projects include SIX Broadway, SIX National Tours, THE NOTEBOOK, OH MARY! as well as numerous other productions in development including THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Support projects through the development period and into production, including tracking the progress of projects in development and generally assisting the executive team.

- Assist with investor management projects including: arranging house seats; maintaining the investor database; organizing and tracking paperwork, assignments, and changes.

- Provide coverage and notes on scripts, readings, and performances of both existing
and potential projects

- Attend marketing, production, and creative meetings as appropriate to take notes
and observe

- Manage/maintain the department’s digital and hard files.

- Assist with finance projects as needed

- Other duties as assigned (Note – all members of staff assist in general office tasks as needed such as answering phones, accepting deliveries, and providing support for meeting and event setup and break down)

Desired Qualifications:

- Passion for the live arts

- Ability to work independently with discretion and confidentiality

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite

- Manage multiple priorities and expectations

- Extremely detail-oriented and well organized

- Ability to maintain composure in a dynamic environment

- Desire for professional growth

Required Qualifications:

- Must reside in New York State for the duration of the fellowship

- Must be a US citizen, US national, US permanent resident (holder of a Permanent Resident Card) or an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA) at the time of application

- Must be a member of an underrepresented community within the theater community

Duration:

- One Year (with the possibility of extension/permanent hire)

Compensation:

- Salary for this position is $50,000 with excellent health benefits
