CASTING NOTICE: Spirit of the Game: The Ultimate Musical, non-equity showcase production at Asylum NYC May 14-17, 2026. The show was a winning selection of the 2025 Florida Festival of New Musicals. Book, music and lyrics by Philip Vlahakis, Director/Choreographer is Liz Piccoli with Musical Direction by Julian Blackmore.

SEEKING: 5 Non-Equity Actors.

Must be available all weekdays starting Wednesday, April 22, 2026 thru to March 13, 2026 from 10am-3pm for rehearsals and tech days, as well as March 14, 1 pm to 4 pm for invite-only dress rehearsal, and for all performances as follows: Thursday, May 14, 2026: 6:00 pm-9:00 pm, 7:00 pm curtain, Friday, May 15, 2026: 6:00 pm-9:00 pm, 7:00 pm curtain, Saturday, May 16, 2026: 1:00-4:00 pm, 2:00 pm curtain, Saturday, May 16, 2026: 6:00 pm-9:00 pm, 7:00 pm curtain, Sunday, May 17, 2026: 2:00 pm-5:00 pm, 3:00 pm curtain. (There is also potential for a 1-week extension.)

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION: Spirit of the Game: The Ultimate Musical is an exciting new show set in Greece about a disgraced high school football star, Johnny Diskakis, who gets a shot at redemption when he joins the Greek National Mixed Ultimate Frisbee team. We are looking for five non-equity actors to complete a diverse cast of ten total cast members to bring this world to life in the first fully staged production of the show. Music is pop-rock infused with traditional Greek motifs.

SOPHIA, Greek, strong, savvy, businesswoman/community leader, 40s/50s, FEMALE, Greek Accent, A3-D5

PAPPOUS, Greek, Johnny’s grandfather, sage, old-world, 60s/70s, MALE, Greek Accent, G2-E4

There is a Greek Chorus (GC) whose members take on multiple roles and personas:

GC3, FEMALE 20s/30s, Athletic: Cheerleader 3, Greek Ultimate Player 3, Sheep 3, Guest 1, England Ultimate Player 3, Shadowy Figure, Greek and English accent, dance skills a plus G3-E5

GC4, MALE, Tall, Athletic, 20s/30s: Quarterback, Man in Suit, Vasili (England Ultimate Player), Sheep 4, Guest 3, Scout 1, Announcer, English or Greek Accent, dance skills a plus, B2-E4

GC5, MALE: plays wide age range from 30s to 60s, Announcers, Older Greek man, Greek Ultimate Player 4, Archaeologist, Official, Scout 2, Greek and English accents, vocal range flexible.
