Painted Pistachio Productions actively seeks a multi-talented, experienced, visionary, dedicated, passionate, ensemble-oriented theater artist/co-producer to help guide us in the now, the near-future, and the beyond.

We are bold, imaginative, enthralling, entertaining, interconnected, transportive theater makers, and each member of our expanding troupe is deeply invested in our artistic journey.

Painted Pistachio, technically born in 2014, first staged several plays of various lengths at Manhattan's Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF).

The ensemble (and MITF) went dormant for a stretch (yet was still breathing), and about a year ago, Painted Pistachio was vibrantly revived by New York co-producer/theater artist Alison Zhang and me for the Off-Broadway Chain Theatre One-Act Festival and the IndyFringe Festival. We have not rested since.

Significantly, Painted Pistachio is well into the process (working with a consultant) of attaining 501(c)(3) non-profit status (incorporated in Illinois, applicable in NY, CA, et al.); we anticipate completion by early 2027. Gaining such a status will open up multiple channels for productions and fundraising and assure our enduring viability.

As for compensation, we've so far paid each ensemble member a stipend for productions, while for our recent Astoria, Queens run at the Hellenic Cultural Center (in conjunction with FAMA Theater Group NY), the ensemble leadership also shared in the box-office take. Needless to say, as we artistically evolve, achieve nonprofit status, widen our cultural imprint, and, consequently, greatly expand fundraising opportunities, ensemble compensation will steadily increase.
