DESCRIPTION

The Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Purchase, College is seeking a friendly and gregarious part-time Performance Manager.

Position Description:

The primary duty of the Performance Manager is to oversee all public areas of our multi-theatre venue and ensure that the experience of each patron is memorable, enjoyable, accommodating, and safe. The Performance Manager assures that all front-of-house protocols are met.

Responsibilities & Duties:

· Opening and locking down the premises.

· Creating a welcoming and professional environment with house staff.

· Leading an enthusiastic, energy-building pre-event meeting for our student usher staff and community volunteers

· Leading end-of-performance operations and closing the house staff shift.

· Assure that safety and security protocols are met.

· Address patron ADA issues and emergencies calmly, with the back-up of University Police when necessary.

· Work closely with the box office and production management to resolve seating issues and assure prompt curtain times.

· Responding to audience questions and concerns, troubleshooting and resolving customer service issues with patrons.

· Making note of any patron incidents or issues while keeping detailed report records.

· Having an overall general understanding of building operations.

· Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule of weekends, daytime and/or evenings and some bank holidays.

· Work respectfully, considerately and flexibly with fellow performance managers, as many of our events overlap.

A pleasant and affable demeanor is a must. Applicants should have strong organizational and communication skills and have experience working with the public. Excellent team management skills are crucial to this position. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, self-motivated, calm under pressure, excellent at customer service and communication, and collaborative. Previous Front of House, customer service, or theatrical experience preferred.

Position is part time with the possibility of benefits, including paid time off, health insurance. Starting salary $25/hr with negotiated increases.
