Job Details

DESCRIPTION

Seeking performers for our upcoming run of Ordinary Days: we are looking for an immediate replacement for the role of Warren, and are also looking for a male-identifying and a female-identifying swing. Our performance dates are in the first week of February (Wednesday through Friday) in Brooklyn. Rehearsals will take place in Manhattan and start in mid-December, picking up more regularly after the holidays in January. Those are primarily weeknight evenings and weekend days, and individual performers will not be called to every rehearsal.

Please note this production will be done via Equity Showcase Code, so AEA, EMC and Non-Union actors are welcome to apply.

A $200 stipend will be provided to performers as a travel reimbursement and gesture for their time. We plan to make it an extremely supportive and positive environment as we put together this joyful show.

If interested, please email [email protected] with headshot, resume, and vocal reel. With casting all roles, but especially Warren, we are looking to move extremely quickly (and have an offer made and accepted by 12/15 if possible) so if interested, we ask that you please reach out right away.

The Male-identifying swing will cover WARREN and JASON, and the female-identifying swing will cover CLAIRE and DEB.

WARREN, he/him

Tenor

A loveable oddball, WARREN is an artist with something to say, but he’s not quite sure what it is yet. He’s determined, positive, and a bit over-eager, but his heart is always in the right place. He identifies as a gay man. His budding friendship with DEB forces him to reflect on his “big picture” in life, while he helps her appreciate the everyday. Comedic delivery and a bright, bubbly demeanor are essential.

DEB, she/her

Mezzo

A no-nonsense high-achiever, DEB is a disgruntled grad student who is constantly looking elsewhere for happiness. Impatient, a bit neurotic, and despite her protests, overall a negative person, she’s got big dreams but no real idea how to achieve them. When her world collides with WARREN, whom she initially dismisses as a “waste of a life,” her walls come crashing down as she discovers what makes life beautiful. Comedic with strong diction.

JASON, he/him

Tenor

A devoted and loving man, JASON has recently moved in with his girlfriend, CLAIRE, and couldn’t be more thrilled to start the next chapter of their lives, even if he has to stay in New York City. He knows exactly what he wants in life, or rather, who he wants, but he doesn’t understand why CLAIRE is so resistant to their relationship’s progression.

CLAIRE, she/her

Mezzo

Struggling with the progression of her relationship, CLAIRE is a headstrong and emotionally layered woman who can’t seem to let go of the past. While she loves JASON, she’s constantly in her own head and often shuts him out, getting in her own way of happiness.
