PREPARATION
Please prepare two short songs (verse and chorus) in the style of the show. We may only need to hear you sing one. Please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

BREAKDOWN
ONCE
SEEKING:
GIRL (M20s-L30s) Direct, intelligent, no nonsense and witty. Has had to work hard at life but doesn't think she deserves any sympathy. Plays the piano and sings. Has a strong Czech (Eastern European) accent.
GUY (M20's-L30's) A struggling Irish musician. Lost and a bit sad, but extremely appealing. Works with his Da in a vacuum repair shop. Has a tenor range and plays guitar. Has a strong Irish accent.
BILLY (M30s - 40's) A large Irish man. Owner of the music store where GIRL plays piano. Loud, funny, and protective of GIRL. Sings and plays guitar. Has a strong Irish accent.
REZA (L20s-L30s) A sexy, funny, smart Czech girl. Often a bit larger than life. Sings and plays violin. Soprano with strong mix required. Has a strong Czech (Eastern European) accent.
BARUSKA (50s and up). Mother of GIRL. A cool but caring Czech mother who likes a full house and full stomachs. Not many inhibitions. Sings and plays the accordion. Has a strong Czech (Eastern European) accent.
BANK MANAGER (30s/40s) Male. Seems quite prim and proper but has a secret passion for music. Sings and plays guitar and cello. Has a strong Irish accent.
DA (50s and up) GUY'S dad. A man of few words, but a lovely and caring father. Sings and plays guitar and mandolin. Has a strong Irish accent.
SVEC (20s/30s) A real odd ball. Loves television and coffee. Plays guitar and drum kit extremely well. Has a strong Czech (Eastern European) accent. (Additional instrumental skills a plus.)
ANDREJ (20's/30s) Earnest and kind. An employee at a fast-food chain but has big dreams. Plays guitar, and bass. Violin/viola highly preferred (but not required.) Has a strong Czech (Eastern European) accent.
EAMON (30s/40s) The music studio manager where GUY and GIRL record their album. A tough nut to crack but eventually gives into the musician's talents. Sings and plays guitar and piano. Has a strong Irish accent. (Additional instrumental skills a plus.)
EMCEE (L20s-30s) The emcee at a bar. A good-natured ball buster. Sings and plays guitar. Has a strong Irish accent. (Additional instrumental skills a plus.)
EX-GIRLFRIEND (20s/30s) GUY'S ex-girlfriend who now lives in New York. Kind, lovely and likeable. Sings and plays violin. Has a strong Irish accent. (Piano skills a plus.)
IVANKA: Mezzo-Soprano. (8-10) Ivanka is the sweet natured daughter of GIRL. Comfortable on stage, with the ability to sing and hold a violin.
