DESCRIPTION

About YAYA Theatre Company

YAYA Theatre Company is a New York–based musical theatre production organization with active creative operations across New York, London, and China.
Website: yayatheatrecompany.org

We develop original Broadway and Off-Broadway family musicals, collaborate with professional Broadway and West End artists, and operate a global production pipeline connecting youth performers to real, professional theatre-making environments.

Our Shenzhen company serves as YAYA’s Asia-based production and training hub, working in close collaboration with our New York and London creative teams.

Position Overview

YAYA Theatre Company is seeking a high-level Musical Theatre Music Director / Vocal Director to join our Shenzhen company for a Spring 2026 resident production period.

This is a production-driven role, not a class-by-class teaching position.

The selected artist will work in close collaboration with YAYA’s Resident Artistic Director to build, rehearse, and deliver a fully staged musical theatre production by late June 2026, while leading vocal training and musical preparation for youth performers.

Contract Details

  • Support Provided:

  • Support a professional rehearsal environment rooted in real musical theatre practice

Candidate Profile

Required

  • Strong piano skills with fluent sight-reading ability

  • Extensive experience teaching musical theatre voice
