Lincoln Road Hustle
World Premiere Immersive Experience Written By: Billy Corben and Harley Elias
December 14, 2024 - February 16, 2025
First rehearsal: November 18th 2024
First performance December 5th 2024
SPT 6

SYNOPSIS: An immersive, site-specific World Premiere staged across Lincoln Road— restaurants, shops, cafés, and public spaces come alive in this high-tech, riveting production. Audiences move between secret locations, eavesdropping on real-time conversations that shouldn’t be overheard. At the center of it all is a major real estate deal: the groundbreaking of a casino set to transform Miami Beach, demolishing a block and altering the city’s fate. A Michelin-ready chef on the brink, an Instagram influencer, a judgmental mother-in-law, and a billion-dollar heist all collide in one explosive night. Will the casino rise, or sink into the Miami Beach sand? This is a story as Miami as it gets—a wild, sexy chronicle of the city’s hungry, conniving characters. Building on MiND’s award-winning immersive techniques from Seven Deadly Sins and The Museum Plays, Lincoln Road Hustle takes the experience to the next level. It’s a thrilling night you can’t watch on a screen—and you won’t find it anywhere else.

SEEKING:
Chef Luna (CAST, seeking understudies) Female, 40s-50s, tough and determined, cooked and fought her way through the hard-boiled back-kitchen world of the Miami food scene for decades until taking the leap to start her own restaurant; carries all of the scars and thick skin that comes with that history

Influencer: Female, 20s-early 30s, Gen-z to a fault, annoyingly hip and in the know, fast-moving, but able to do the fake-Miami-influencer drawl. Cunning, knows how to flip a switch and become a different person on a knife’s edge

Mother-in-Law: Female, 50s+, a gorgeous and gorgeously composed woman, poised, luxurious, knows how to carry herself, dress to impress, and get exactly what she wants. She’s not afraid to say what needs to be said, and she’s not afraid to take what she needs even if you don’t want to give it.

Girlfriend: Female, 30s, bookish, unassuming, ‘librarian-cute’, young-feeling, diminutive, jolly but not the best at small talk

DeLeon (CAST, seeking understudies) Male, 50s+, grandiose bravado, walks into the room and you can feel that he owns a casino, garrulous, unafraid, witty, loves a good time, loves being in control, feverishly hungry to close a deal and furious at anyone in its way

Entrepreneur: Male, late 20s - early 30s, Hispanic, young go-getter energy, endured a lot, learned to hold his head high, determined, fierce, a quiet searing vengeance to him, controlled and steady

Marjory: Female, Late-20s - 30s, a perfectly ardent flag-waving activist from a picturesquely privileged background. Gutsy, sharp, bold, moves through the earth knowing someone will clean up her mess, unafraid to make a mess to piss off the powers that be, that also happen to be her family

Juan: Male, 30s, an absolute hustler, unafraid to do whatever he has to do to make a buck, a gambler, a crypto-trader, a ladies-man, charming in a can’t-fault-him kinda way, way more intelligent than he lets on, good-guy-greg if good-guy-greg was more about his business

Denny: Male, 30s-40s, brickheaded gangster, single-minded, money-focused, trying-to-get-the-job-done, a hustler, unafraid of a shakedown, ready for violence, quick to get the picture, rattling lingo off the cuff

Cardio: Male, 30s-40s, fit, rollerskater, muscular, incredibly smooth and skilled on the skates, energetic, jocular, a sort of manic unpredictability, loud vibes

The plays for this production are in process of development. For now, the casting team is looking for a diverse cross section of age, gender, race, body size, and more.

Bad Dog
World Premiere
Written by: Harley Elias
January 25 - February 16, 2025
First rehearsal: January 7th, 2025
First performance: January 23rd, 2025
SPT 9

SYNOPSIS: A performance artist takes up residency in a blue-chip contemporary Miami art gallery to stage a controversial performance art piece: He will live as a dog for a month, biting visitors and being trained and domesticated. But as the true nature of the piece and of his identity are called into question, he unexpectedly causes the upheaval of the gallery and the lives of those who work there, leading to coup d’états, deadly workplace betrayal, and the rise of the art gallery working class: the gallerinas. A canine comedy about the high-class contemporary art world, identity politics in art, and the power of deception.

SEEKING:
Gallerina (CAST, seeking understudies) Female, 20s-30s, feverishly hungry, cunning, whip-smart, intelligent enough to know when and with whom to play dumb, fluent in many kinds of parlance and lingo and class-levels of language. A deceptive agent of chaos, lies so much she truly makes you believe there is no truth; why would there be truth when there’s getting exactly what you want.

Assistant: Female, 20s-30s, has all the hustle, mental acuity, and dedication to be successful but somehow someone you immediately look at and know they will be an assistant for the rest of their life. Fanatically good at getting shit shoveled on them, literally and figuratively. Keep-no-friends, leave-no- prisoners, take-all-the-adderall, whine-all-day, shut up when you’re told to, soulless smile by default. But deep, deeper inside than anyone thought possible, harboring creative dreams of escaping it all.

Gallerist (CAST, seeking understudies) Female, 50s+, stunning, stunningly poised, flagrant in her emotions, someone with the privilege to feel all the things she want to feel at any time out loud. Demanding, with the power to make you do the things she wants you to do before she thinks them. Flattering and effusive at the drop of a hat. Not kind to anyone she doesn’t need to be. Subject to whims.

David (CAST, seeking understudies) Male, 40s-50s, a searing performance artist, has put his body and mind through more intentional pressure than any ‘normal’ human, yet holds himself as if it’s normal. unflinching, passionate, self-important, self-critical, speaks in riddles, puzzles his audience, and is highly disrespectful of the art world. At his core is a wildly dark intellect, a self-destructive streak that hides real pain in big art world isms. Makes Matthew Barney look like a middle-school art teacher.

They have all returned from the trip with a new commitment to their Jewish identity, to Israel, and to each other. As such, they briefly occupy a totally shared sense of reality; at the last moment of the 21st century, this was still possible. In 2007, Facebook comes online, the iPhone gets released and the ability of these friends – or anyone – to exist in a shared reality begins to fray. Over the next 18 years, through to Oct 7th and beyond, we watch as this group of friends comes together and breaks apart, wrestling each in their own way with this central question: Am I living the life I am supposed to be living as a Jew in America?
