DESCRIPTION

MEP, the Producing and General Management company led by Tony Award–winning producer Eva Price, is seeking a Spring Intern to join our Producing & General Management team beginning in March. This part-time, in-person role offers hands-on exposure to commercial theatre operations and development and is ideal for candidates interested in commercial theatre who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Standard business hours are Monday–Friday, 10am–6pm.

The Intern will serve as a key representative of MEP and its leadership team. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional professionalism, strong judgement, and a keen awareness of the daily activity, news, and workflow of the commercial theatre industry.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Exposure to commercial theatre producing and general management
  • How Broadway/Off-Broadway offices operate day-to-day
  • Script coverage and project development workflows
  • Calendar management, talent coordination, and production logistics
  • Basics of ticketing, house seats, and stakeholder communication

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research and preparing materials as needed
  • Script reading and analysis
  • Maintaining office and project calendars
  • Maintaining files
  • Researching travel
  • Fielding and maintaining call logs and correspondence
  • Scheduling and facilitating Zoom and in-person meetings
  • Facilitating house seat and voucher requests
  • Assistance with various office-related duties

Qualifications:

  • Interest in commercial theatre producing, management, or arts administration
  • Prior theatre, entertainment, or administrative experience preferred
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong initiative
  • Outstanding communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Graphic Design & Video editing skills (Canva, iMovie, Vimeo) are not required, but a bonus

Compensation:

  • $17.00/hour (maximum 30 hours/wk)
  • We are happy to complete any paperwork for active students seeking course credit.
