Music Supervisor

Mac-Haydn Theatre (Chatham, NY) is seeking a qualified and experienced Music Supervisor for the upcoming 2026 summer season. In hopes of engaging with musicians in the Hudson Valley and Albany area, local artists are encouraged to apply. MHT is a wonderful place for those looking to build their resume, play a lot of music, gain experience, and build relationships with other musicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all musical elements of the 6 Mainstage Productions and Showstoppers, including but not limited to: Rehearse and prepare the productions to performance readiness. Lead Band and Cast Rehearsals. Provide Keyboard programming with the assistance of AMD (Experience with Mainstage Keyboard Programming required) Maintain the quality of performances throughout the show run. Hire of all musicians pre-season. Determine instrumentation for each pit and create reductions as necessary. Assist the artistic director in casting decisions and audition week

• Provide leadership and mentorship to musical staff.

• Provide general leadership and advocacy for the Mac-Haydn Theatre, acting as a representative of the company when required.

Skills Required

• Strong Piano Skills

• Leadership skills and ability to work with a team

• Experienced music director and piano-conductor

• Experience working with vocalists and leading cast rehearsals

• Experience playing choreography and blocking rehearsals

• Experience leading a band, working with musicians, and creating reductions

• Experience with programming and performing using MainStage

Compensation And Expectations

• Reports To: Artistic Director

• Compensation In Season: $800.00/wk plus $100 Travel Stipend. Single Room Housing

• Contract Dates: In Season Contract Period May 29–September 6, 2026.

• Pre Season: March 1, 2026–May 27, 2026

• Audition Week: March 18–19, 2026
