DESCRIPTION

KPC is searching for dynamic, expressive artivists (artists/activists) who dance and act, specifically those adept at connecting emotion to choreography through narrative based movement.

Seeking artists who are focused, determined and fired up to create change in the world by using dance as our medium to access emotion, leading to conversation and understanding: "We are more alike than we are different" as our motivating credo.

ESPECIALLY SEEKING BLACK & BROWN GLOBAL MAJORITY MEMBERS, PARTICULARLY PERFORMING ARTISTS OF FALASTEEN (Palestinian artists)

2SLGBTQIA+ & Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, & Non-Binary artists of every race, gender, body size and shape, ability and disability ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!!!

Upcoming rehearsals from November 3rd through December 18th preparing for performance opportunities beginning January 2025 and throughout the year

KPC Initiatives/Projects include:

KPC's Pathway to Wellness through Movement: I COULD NEVER LOVE ANYONE… is an adjunct resource for people dealing with substance use and mental health complexities. I COULD NEVER LOVE ANYONE... is a dance musical that centers a person with substance use disorder and their siblings as they face this family disorder together.

UNTITLED GIRL NARRATIVE is a Queer Love story dance musical that spotlights three young people coming of age, embracing their autonomy and power as 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in today's America.

“Transcend, Uplifting Their Voices” is a concert and scholarship initiative that emerged in July 2021 to offer artists and audiences the chance to work towards equity and inclusion by dismantling systemic racism through the decolonization of the performing arts industry. Currently KPC aims to offer this concert and scholarship initiative again by summer 2025.

"OutCry" Dance on Film series spotlights social injustices perpetrated in America against the Global Majority, with a massive focus on Black Lives Matter and creating mental health care resources through spoken word, music, and movement on film. Currently preparing for the premiere of “OutCry” November 1st 2024.

“Grapefruit” dance performance/dance on film project spotlights body dysmorphia, bulimia, anorexia, and weight bias in the performing arts and dance industry and American society. Currently in the early stages of development and the creative process.

***PAID performances/projects* $125 minimum per performance/day of filming***

We aim to compensate for rehearsals in the future, however right now rehearsals are not compensated and are attended voluntarily.

Accepting SUBMISSIONS for AUDITION APPOINTMENTS held within KPC company rehearsals:

  • Wednesday October 23rd 7-9pm

  • Sunday October 27th 4-6pm

  • Wednesday October 30th 7-9pm

***KPC rehearses weekly, Wednesdays 6-10 pm and Sundays 3-7pm*** Please ensure your availability aligns with this schedule
