PREPARATION
For TRACK 1 understudy: Please prepare a monologue under 2 minutes. No TV/Film material. Please choose something with energy and pace. For TRACK 2 understudy: Please prepare a short song and accompany yourself on guitar. Please choose a song in the style of folk, Americana, bluegrass, or rock. An accompanist will NOT be present.

SEEKING:
UNDERSTUDY TRACK 1: He/him. White. Late 20s-Late 30s. Requires a physical stamina to meet
the high physical, vocal and pace demands of the piece. A wide variety and range of roles, an agile
and nimble approach to character. Primary role is a young lawyer, fresh out of school. Other
characters in this track range from an 80-year-old man to a 14-year-old girl.
UNDERSTUDY TRACK 2: Seeking a musician for this track. He/him. Open race/ ethnicity. Late 20slate
30s. This track is an onstage musician. Will sing the music in the show AND play a combination of
live acoustic and electronic music throughout the entire show, some underscoring and some full
musical set pieces and songs in multiple genres. This track works as a duet with Jack Holden’s track,
responding in rhythm with their performance and being very much visible onstage as part of creating
the world and soundscape for the show. There are some lines of dialogue. Necessary skillset includes:
Tenor singing voice. Highly skilled: acoustic and electric guitar, particularly in alternative tunings
DADGAD and DADF#AD. Skilled: slide guitar, keyboards, drumkit, percussion, vocals, banjo. Some
working knowledge of Ableton Live software and basic music production / DJing / live electronics.
Experience in or some working knowledge of genres including folk, Americana, bluegrass, rock and
electronic music.
