Job Title: Head Electrician
Rate: $41.60/hr
Start Date: ASAP
General Statement of Job Function: The Show Crew is responsible for the safe, accurate and timely run of
“Masquerade”. They are responsible for running the lighting system from throughout the
building under the guise of the Stage Management team. Due to the non-departmental specific nature of immersive
theater, there will be cross-departmental tasks the Show Crew will be required to participate in.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
● Test and Checkout & Preset the lighting system prior to all performances and events.
● Follow all start up and shut down procedures as created by Management and the Production Electrician.
● Troubleshoot any technical problems and reach out to the Production Electrician and/or
● Management as needed for further solves.
● Troubleshoot all show control needs and reach out for further support as needed.
● Read, understand, and follow tech cues described in Stage Management’s run sheets.
● Communicate notes to the production team and lead any reasonable repairs.
● Assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing damaged elements and production
● equipment.
● Attend and participate in all required technical rehearsals, crew calls, technical notes and
● performances as assigned.
● Participate in pre-show and post-show for each Pulse throughout the night, as well as a large
● shutdown at the end of the end of the performances.
● Operate all automated show control systems during performances, tech, special events which may nor may not be connected to performances of Masquerade and rehearsals during the term.
● Produce payroll for the electrics team, per the timeline set forth by Company Management
● Maintain detailed documentation of cue sheets, maintenance logs, and system configurations.
● Train substitute Lighting Board Operators as needed
● In addition to responsibilities related to Electrics, it is understood that the Play is operating under a nondepartmental agreement with Local 1 and Crew’s responsibilities may include nonautomation related deck track tasks.
● Other additional responsibilities as assigned by Production Electrician and/or Management, and
● Stage Management.
● Advocate and participate in all safety plans that are defined by the Production team / management
● Practice safe battery handling and charging practices
Required Qualifications & Skills:
● Proficient knowledge and experience in ETC APEX control systems
● Proficient knowledge and experience in lighting control system networking and operation
● Reasonable knowledge of show control systems and components
● Experience in technical theatre.
● Advance knowledge of stage lighting, rigging, carpentry, motion control and stagecraft techniques.
● Manual dexterity and an aptitude for working with a variety of materials and techniques.
● Experience with hand and power tools, scissor lifts, and genies.
● Able to repeatedly climb four five flights of stairs while carrying 40 50 pounds.
● Ability to work comfortably in at various heights elevations of up to 18 feet.
● Ability to troubleshoot problems calmly and e]iciently under pressure.
● Ability to adjust to a moving, immersive environment in a non-theatrical performance space.
● Basic knowledge of rigging, carpentry, motion control and stagecraft techniques.
● Availability nights, weekends, and the non-Union defined holidays.
Show Schedule: Tuesday through Sunday @ 7pm and Saturday/Sunday @ 1:00pm
