Electrics Technician

· Position(s): 3

· Dates: Arrive: Thurs May 21, Start: Fri May 22, Last Day: Sun Aug 23, Depart: Mon Aug 24

· Pay: $16.00 an hour, non-exempt position, eligible for overtime

· Housing: Shared housing, fully furnished, collegiate style with a shared bedroom. Weekly Housing fee of $100.00

· Travel: Not provided

· Location: Brunswick, ME

Primary Responsibilities

Essential functions include (but are not limited to):

· Direct Supervisor: Head Electrician

· Work load-ins, changeovers, strikes, focus calls, notes calls, and maintenance calls for each production

· Production prep for required equipment, organization of color, templates, and other consumables

· Wiring of practicals and effects

· Run all phases of installation and programming

· Maintain/repair lighting equipment such as theatrical lighting instrumentation, practical electrical properties, backstage running lights, projection equipment, chemical and dry ice foggers, effects devices, cue lights, and tech tables

· Work a rotating schedule, per production, for the programing and running of the light console, followspot operator, deck electrician, and/or video technician for all technical, dress and brush-up rehearsals, note sessions, and performances

· Attend run-throughs, backstage prep, technical rehearsals, performances, load ins, and strikes as scheduled

· Perform daily dimmer/focus checks

· Participate in MSMT events as needed and required

· Adhere to the MSMT Safety protocols and all other applicable MSMT policies & procedures

· Drive MSMT vehicles and box trucks

· Promote a collaborative, inclusive, positive and respectful working environment

· Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Production and MSMT Annual Staff

Qualifications

The following skills and experience are required:

· Knowledge of ETC Eos Consoles

· Experience with programming, rigging, hazers, foggers, theatrical effects, LED tape, intelligent lighting fixtures, practicals, and standard theatrical practices

· Aptitude for creative technical and artistic problem solving

· Familiar with Vectorworks, Microsoft Office, video production and playback software including QLab

· Good organizational, interpersonal, time management, and communication skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, energized, and quickly changing environment

· Able to work independently and as a team player

· Detail oriented and able to prioritize efficiently

· Driver’s license and clean driving record required

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing

· Prolonged periods of working in dark, quiet, or enclosed spaces at the theatre
· Ability to regularly move and lift 30-50 lbs. All positions involve lifting and moving cumbersome boxes, packages, equipment, etc.

· Occasional ladder and MEWP (Personnel Lifts) work at heights up to 30 feet (technicians)
