KJK Productions is hiring a Director for our 2026 summer theatre camp season, leading two student productions in an exciting, fast-paced rehearsal process.

2026 Productions

Show 1: Footloose: 90-Minute Version
📅 July 6–17, 2026
🎭 Performance: July 17 @ 7 PM

Show 2: Chicago: Teen Edition
📅 July 20–31, 2026
🎭 Performance: July 31 @ 7 PM

⏰ Camp hours: Weekdays, 9 AM–4 PM

⭐ Candidates available for both productions are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

- Direct blocking and scene work for performers ages 12+
- Lead rehearsals in collaboration with the choreographer and music director
- Shape storytelling, pacing, and ensemble performance
- Run tech and dress rehearsals
- Stage manage the final performance
- Assist with theatre education workshops

Compensation

$750–$1,000 per week
Paid per production • Independent contractor role

Location/Transportation

Camp is in Yorktown Heights, NY, approximately 50 minutes from Manhattan’s West Side.

🚐 Transportation may be available from the Manhattan (Midtown West, UWS or Upper Manhattan)
🏠 No housing provided

Qualifications

- Experience directing youth theatre required
- Theatre education background preferred
- NYS Fingerprint Clearance required
