DIGITAL MEDIA ASSISTANT

The Southeastern Summer Theatre Institute is seeking a Digital Media Assistant to help capture, shape, and share the story of our nineteenth summer season.

This role is not simply about posting on social media. It is about documenting process, elevating storytelling, and translating a fast-moving artistic environment into compelling visual content.

Working under the supervision of our Associate Producer, the Digital Media Assistant will:

• Capture high-quality photo and video content throughout rehearsals, tech, performances, and community events
• Edit short-form video content in Adobe Premiere with experience and efficiency
• Design and adapt graphics using Canva within existing brand templates
• Generate original content ideas aligned with SSTI’s voice and mission
• Work from established visual systems while contributing creative initiative

Ideal candidates will have:

• Interest and knowledge of current social media trends
• Ability to create different types of engaging social content for a wide ranging audience
• Strong photography and videography experience
• Demonstrated editing proficiency in Adobe Premiere
• Comfort working within brand templates while also creating original content
• A sharp eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling
• The ability to take direction and execute with precision
• A calm, self-managed presence in a fast-paced rehearsal environment

This is a hands-on role embedded inside the rehearsal room and production process. The right candidate understands when to capture quietly, when to move quickly, and how to represent artists and designers with professionalism and respect. Our digital presence should match the scale, artistry, and ambition of the work happening on stage and in the shop.

For eighteen incredible summers, the Southeastern Summer Theatre Institute has welcomed extraordinary high school theatre students from across the US to beautiful Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for a month-long professional theatre experience that shapes these young people as both performers and people. Contract W2 Salary: $4250 total contract plus the company additionally provides:
