DESCRIPTION

The PSO’s administrative internships offer hands-on experience working alongside a team of professionals to produce world-class concerts and events, as well as the opportunity to develop a wide variety of skills crucial in today’s arts and non-profit landscape. In addition to working on projects that are integral to the success of the season, interns are encouraged to learn from and about roles across the entire company.

The Development & Special Events Intern supports all areas of fundraising for the PSO, and especially the annual Gala in April, post-concert receptions, and other cultivation events.

INTERNSHIP JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in preparations for the annual Gala by assisting with the invitation mailing, creating digital and print materials for use at the event, assembling takeaways, etc.
  • Provide assistance with a range of tasks at the Gala, especially by greeting attendees and bid-spotting during the live auction and Fund-a-Need.
  • Assist in maintaining complete and accurate records of donors and donations by updating the PSO's database, Patron Manager, and by digitizing and filing documents, including check copies and tax acknowledgments.
  • Provide other administrative support to the development team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the US.
  • All internships are paid at the rate of $15/hour
  • Dates and hours for each position vary (see details below). Hours will include evening and weekend event coverage.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • High standards of integrity, credibility, and reliability including the ability to keep confidential information secure and private.
  • Excellent time management skills including a commitment to attendance and punctuality.
  • Works well independently and in a group setting, a true team player.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable form of transportation.
  • Knowledge of and a passion for classical music/orchestral repertoire are desirable but not required.

OTHER
All Princeton Symphony Orchestra employees and on-site contractors are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and must have received any booster shot for which they are eligible, as well as any future booster shot that may be required.
