POSITION: Data Specialist

Status: Temp to Perm
Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
In Office: 5 days a week
Pay Rate: $30-33/hour
Salary (once perm): $62,500-65,000 annual & healthcare benefits, PTO, etc.
Job Description:

The Data Specialist is responsible for the creation and management of all Web Portal catalog entries and Web metadata, ensuring quality and accuracy. The ideal candidate will process metadata for Web destinations such as the organizational website and other sites hosted by digital partners, catalogs, factchecks and make edits to Web Portal database.

Duties:

  • Chooses programs from the archive for priority cataloging. Special focus: Original content and affiliated programs; Special Collections (e.g., African-American, LGBTQ+, Hispanic, Women’s, Music, Comedy, and many others); and topical programs from the archive related to current events
  • Catalogs and copyedits final metadata for the Web Portal database
  • Consolidates multi-part metadata summaries and credits found in Web Portal into single, streamlined entries with one list of credits
  • Performs regular database clean-up to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Assists the Registrar with grant-related deliverables provided by the Development Team
  • Engages as an Ambassador for social media initiatives

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in metadata management or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience working with Digital Asset Management systems
  • Strong understanding of cataloging and metadata standards in Libraries, Archives, and Museums
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Salesforce, SharePoint
  • Strong work ethic with desire and preference to work in-person as part of a cohesive, collaborative, high-energy, in-the-office work environment
  • Bachelor's Degree.
