Creede Repertory Theatre seeks Costume Designer for its 2026 Young Audience Outreach Tour.
JOB TITLE: Costume Designer
REPORTS TO: Director of Education & Engagement, Director of Production & Facilities
COMPENSATION: $1500.00
HOUSING: Provided
TRAVEL: Provided
CONTRACT DATES: August 4, 2026 to August 28, 2026
DUTIES:
- Attend all video conference design and pre-production meetings with the director and the creative team
- Work with the Director, Artistic Director, Production Manager, and creative team to design the visual aspects of the characters including but not limited to:
- Provide a costume plot and complete sketches or any/all representations necessary for execution of costumes
- Supply color schemes/sketches or outline sketches with examples of materials for each costume including ornaments and detail
- Select appropriate costumes from stock, rental, or other resources and coordinate their adaptation for the production
- Supply specifications and revisions for competitive bids for costume shops or other suppliers mutually satisfactory to Creede Rep and Costume Designer
- Supply specifications for the shop, if applicable, to make, sew, construct/and or paint costumes and costume accessories and to approve the fabrication thereof
- Participate in the fittings and alterations of the costumes
- Approve hairstyles and/or select of wigs, hairpieces, mustaches, beards, prosthetics and special make-up.
- Select or approve all accessories.
- Attend rehearsals, tech and previews as necessary to design the Production
- Collaborate with the Costume Shop Manager in the execution of your designs, budget, and resources
- Participate in all company meetings, special company functions, publicity functions, and/or other meetings or events as required by CRT for which appropriate notice will be given.
- Adhere to CRT’s Health & Safety protocols.
- Participate in safety and emergency response training as required by CRT.
