A Midsummer Night’s Dream (opens Oct 14, 2026)
The Pirates of Penzance (opens Mar 4, 2027)

Iowa Central Community College Theatre is seeking designers in all areas for two productions in the 2026–27 season:
• A Midsummer Night’s Dream – opening October 14, 2026
• The Pirates of Penzance – opening March 4, 2027

We are accepting materials for Scenic, Lighting, Costume, Prop, Sound, and Projection Designers. Designers may be considered for one or both productions, depending on availability, experience, and production needs.

Position Details
Designers collaborate with the Director of Theatre, production team, and student crews to create cohesive designs that support the artistic vision while working within academic schedules and institutional resources. Rehearsal and build schedules will be coordinated in advance.

Positions are paid. Compensation varies by design area and scope of work.

Some work may done remotely depending on the role. Those not lively nearby who are asked to come on-site would be provided housing.

Important Note on Hiring Status
These positions are anticipated but not guaranteed. Iowa Central Community College Theatre is currently building a pool of qualified designers for the 2026–27 season. Final hiring is contingent on production budgets and institutional approval.

Submitted materials may be kept on file for future opportunities.

Desired Qualifications
• Prior experience designing for theatrical productions (educational, community, or professional)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to work within modest budgets and academic timelines
• Experience mentoring or collaborating with students is a plus
