DESCRIPTION

Open Arts Alliance is seeking creative dynamic professionals to join our production team for the upcoming junior production of Beetlejuice Jr. The show will be performed by young actors and will be a fun and lively interpretation of the iconic story. We are looking for passionate individuals who are ready to bring their artistic expertise to this exciting theatrical adventure.

Production Team Positions Available:

-Choreographer
As the choreographer for Beetlejuice Jr., you will be responsible for creating and teaching all of the movement and dance numbers, including the energetic and fun ensemble choreography. You will work closely with the director and musical team to bring the show’s lively spirit to life through movement.

Responsibilities:

-Stage and teach the choreography for all major musical numbers.
-Work with the cast to rehearse and refine the choreography.
-Collaborate with the director and music director to ensure a cohesive vision for the production.
-Adapt choreography to suit the skill levels of young performers.
-Ensure the choreography supports the storytelling and tone of the show.

Qualifications:
-Experience choreographing for youth or educational theater.
-Strong dance background in various styles. Experience with tap is preferred.
-Ability to teach and inspire young performers.
-Strong communication and collaboration skills.

-Lighting Designer

The lighting designer will create and execute the lighting design for Beetlejuice Jr., ensuring that the production’s aesthetic and mood are reflected through effective use of lighting. This role requires creativity, technical skill, and the ability to collaborate with the director and design team. Ideally, the lighting designer will oversee the plot design, instrument rentals and hanging of the show.

Responsibilities:

-Design the lighting plot and effects for the production.
-Work with the director and other designers to achieve the desired atmosphere for each scene.
-Identify inventory of lighting equipment to rent and liaise with rental house to achieve desired look within budget.
-Program lighting board (prefered)
-Ensure that lighting design enhances storytelling and supports the overall creative vision.

Qualifications:

-Experience in lighting design for theater.
-Knowledge of lighting equipment and software.
-Ability to work within budget and time constraints.
-Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
