DESCRIPTION

Toothy's Treasure premieres at The Tank's Mainstage Theater March 2nd-8th. This production will feature a first-of-its-kind interactive livestream, where audiences can submit suggestions and vote on outcomes from anywhere in the world. The cast will improvise within the structure of the scripted musical, making each show a unique experience.

This is an unpaid production. Actors will be given access to a pro-shot recording to use for reels.

Storyline: Toothy’s Treasure follows a crew of pirates on a quest for lost treasure, led by the perfect protagonist… who dies in the first scene. The crew then recruits audience volunteers with "main-character energy" to help lead the way, using improvisation to integrate their real-life stories into the scripted musical, and leaving the rest of the audience on the edge of their seat as the line between theatre and reality is blurred.

[CAPTAIN MOLDY BONES] 25-40, A failed actor who has found piracy as a new route to achieve fame. Wishes to go down in history as one of the greatest pirates of all time, but lacks the ruthlessness to commit any noteworthy crimes. Eccentric, theatrical, and willing to compromise their morals if it means a moment in the spotlight. (Strong Improviser).

[SQUID LIPS] 20-35, A mysterious but devoted navigator who proudly boasts about their committed, romantic, carnal relationship with The Sea. Compensating for a failed romance with another member of the crew, but too deep in their delusion to face that reality. Enigmatic aura, head in the clouds, and inner turmoil seeping through their skin. (Strong Improviser).

[WET SHOE] 20-35, An enthusiastic gunner who cut off their hands just for the pirate aesthetic. They are constantly taking a beating for everyone else's mistakes, but continue to be the most sensible person on board. They are the noble heart of the crew and the glue that holds them together. Resilient, selfless, and full of genuine thoughtfulness. (Strong Improviser).

[CHUMBLE] 25-40, A genetically modified talking parrot with a loud mouth and a knack for destruction. Proudly serves as the ship’s First Mate, but creates more problems than they solve. A lost spirit, wishful thinker, and a deep lover of chaos. (Strong Improviser).

[THE PERFECT PROTAGONIST & OTHERS] 20-35, A compassionate pirate rookie with main-character energy. The audience gets to help build this character, choosing their name and traits during the pre-show. Versatile character actor who plays multiple roles throughout the show. (Strong Improviser).
