NYC leading youth training program, Broadway Workshop & Project Broadway are holding live and virtual auditions for their 2025 Main Stage Production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Seeking two casts of student performers ages 8-19 with dynamic stage presence who are excellent singers and dancers. Student performers ages 8-12 will be considered for the Junior Ensemble and students ages 13+ will be considered for principal and ensemble roles.

All Rehearsals take place on weekends and begin March 2nd in Midtown. Performances will take place at Baruch Performing Arts Center (55 Lexington Ave) May 2-4.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a re-imagining of the story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. The magical musical is full of catchy songs in a variety of styles, from a parody of French ballads (“Those Canaan Days”), to country-western (“One More Angel in Heaven”) and calypso (“Benjamin Calypso”), along with the unforgettable classics “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.”

Broadway Workshop and Project Broadway provide professional training experiences that are both educational and truly awe inspiring for our audiences. The Main Stage features beautiful high-end sets, lighting and sound design led by a creative team who has worked on Broadway and at major regional theaters. As always, a full live band will accompany the production. Our production will take place at Baruch Performing Arts Center and is guaranteed to dazzle our audiences! The Main Stage is a tuition-based program, Students cast in the Main Stage pay a $995 registration fee. There is no cost to audition. Payment plans are available. Students needing financial aid can apply for scholarship funds.

VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

Video auditions can be submitted through our website till January 12

In Person Callbacks will take place on January 19 at Ripley Grier Studios.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR YOUR AUDITION
Students should prepare 32 bars cut (around 1 minute) of a musical theater or Pop/Rock song in the style of the show. Ideally these song choices should be up-tempos. All movement/dance will take place at callbacks.

For live auditions please have sheet music in the correct key (that you sing your song in). A pianist will be present but cannot transpose your songs to different keys. Music should be 3 hole punched and in a binder. Please also bring a recent photo (and resume if possible).

For Video submission please record musical audition material and upload to YouTube or Vimeo, Please slate name, age and what town you live in before you audition video. We would also like to know if you are available for the in-person callback on 1/19/25. You can include a photo, resume and any supplemental info to our video audition form.
