Founded in 1985 by Board Chair Hon. John V. Lindsay, Executive Producer Bernard Gersten and Director Gregory Mosher, and led for 33 years by André Bishop, LCT is one of the leading nonprofit theaters in the country, producing an annual season of plays and musicals that have been seen by millions around the globe. It is one of 11 autonomous constituents of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Each year, the three theaters that make up LCT welcome nearly 300,000 audience members to its home on the Lincoln Center campus.

Position Summary:

Lincoln Center Theater (LCT) seeks a collaborative and highly organized Associate General Manager to join its General Management team. This position supports the administrative, contractual, and operational functions of LCT’s productions and events across its venues, including the Vivian Beaumont Theater, Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, and Claire Tow Theater.

Working closely with the Producer and General Management team, the Associate General Manager helps oversee the day-to-day administration of LCT’s Broadway, Off-Broadway, and developmental programming. The role is central to artist contracting, production budgeting, union administration, and cross-departmental coordination. The Associate General Manager also supports LCT’s labor relations work, including preparing for and participating in collective bargaining negotiations.

Responsibilities:

Production Administration

  • Support the General Management team in overseeing the administrative operations of LCT productions and related events.

  • Coordinate with artistic, production, finance, marketing, and development departments to ensure smooth production operations.

  • Maintain production calendars and ensure compliance with union rules and scheduling requirements.

  • Track contractual billing and communicate obligations across departments.

Contracting & Negotiations

  • Negotiate and oversee drafting of artist contracts for actors, directors, designers, stage managers, musicians, and other creative personnel.

  • Assist in negotiating and drafting more complex agreements, including author agreements, commission agreements, licensing agreements, co-productions, and rentals.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with artist representatives and agencies.

Budgeting & Financial Administration

  • Draft initial production budgets in collaboration with the General Manager and Producer.

  • Track and monitor production expenses throughout the life cycle of each production.

  • Review and process artist payments, royalties, invoices, and payroll documentation.

  • Assist with financial projections and post-production reconciliations.

Labor Relations & Union Administration

  • Help administer and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.

  • Serve as a liaison with union representatives including AEA, SDC, USA, Local One, ATPAM, Locals 802, 751, 764, 798.

  • Prepare concession requests, manage union reporting, and coordinate pension and health documentation.

  • Assist in preparation for collective bargaining negotiations and participate in negotiation sessions as needed.

Rights, Compliance & Communications

  • Manage rights clearances and music licensing relationships, including with ASCAP.

  • Review production materials—including Playbills, advertisements, and announcements—to ensure contractual accuracy and billing compliance.

  • Serve as a resource for internal departments regarding contractual and union requirements.


Skills and
Qualifications:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in theatrical general management, company management, producing, or related arts administration.

  • Experience with Broadway, Off-Broadway and LORT productions strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of theatrical labor unions and collectively bargained agreements.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with an annual salary range of $100,000 - $110,000. Lincoln Center Theater provides comprehensive benefits including: Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 403(b) and Employer Match, and Paid Time Off.
