DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Stage Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the stage management of musicals and plays. This role is essential for assisting the Production Stage Manager and ensuring seamless coordination of rehearsals and live performances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Production Stage Manager in overseeing all aspects of stage management, including rehearsals and performances.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of rehearsal schedules, call sheets, In/Out racking, running the show from the deck.
  • Communicate effectively with cast, crew to ensure preparedness for rehearsals and performances.
  • Coordinate and oversee backstage operations, including deck oversight of crew set changes and prop management, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Communicate with production and general management, house management, designers, crew and technical staff.
  • Maintain clear and consistent documentation of production notes.
  • Assist in supervising production assistants and interns as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in stage management, particularly with musicals and plays.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage well and calmly in a crisis.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other common stage management software.
  • Knowledge of technical theatre practices, including basic lighting and sound.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and remain composed under pressure.
