Reporting Structure: Reports to the General Management team.
A long-running Off-Broadway musical is seeking a Part-Time Assistant General Manager to support the ongoing operational, financial, and administrative needs of the production. This role works closely with the General Management team and key members of the producing and creative teams to ensure the smooth day-to-day management of the show.
This is an ideal position for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional with experience in theatrical general management who thrives in a fast-paced, live production environment.
The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing financial tracking, contracting, union compliance, and production operations for a long-running Off-Broadway musical. This role requires strong organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
This is a part-time position (15–20 hours per week) with occasional evening and weekend availability required based on production needs.
Assist in tracking and maintaining the production’s operating budget and weekly running costs
Process invoices, and reimbursements in a timely manner
Support weekly financial reporting and reconciliation
Coordinate with company management on payroll-related needs
Assist in the preparation and administration of artist and staff contracts
Track and ensure compliance with all union rules, reporting, and contractual obligations
Support any union-related filings, audits, or communications
Liaise with Company Management to support day-to-day company needs
Assist with onboarding and offboarding of company members
Help coordinate scheduling, and other logistics as needed
Support communication across departments including production, marketing, and theater operations
Provide administrative support to the General Manager, including scheduling, document management, and correspondence
Maintain organized records of contracts, financial documents, and production files
Assist in coordinating special projects, events, or production needs
Attend select rehearsals, performances, or meetings as needed
2-4+ Years of Theatrical Administration experience
Experience in theatrical general management, company management, or producing
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Working knowledge of theatrical unions (AEA, SDC, USA, Local 802 preferred)
Familiarity with production budgeting and contract administration
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
A collaborative, proactive attitude and ability to problem-solve independently
Comfort working in a fast-paced, live entertainment environment
This is a part-time, hourly position (15–20 hours per week). Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
