SYNOPSIS

After the Execution, by Gwendolyn Phair, revolves around Anne Boleyn’s legacy. It takes place a few short hours after Boleyn’s execution. Two servants and a lady reflect, ridicule, and defend the actions of the currently villainized Boleyn. They cross class barriers to discuss, revel in, and test the safety of sisterhood. This causes them to quietly question the rules and restrictions around which their world has revolved. They each find themselves staring into Boleyn’s legacy only to see their own, or lack thereof, reflected back. This is a 15 minute one act play.

CHARACTERS

Isabelle ~ Female Identifying, Age 25-35, The lady of the house. (This role requires the character to be undressed onstage by her servants. That being said there will be NO nudity. Isabelle will end the play in an undergarment/shift. Please feel free to ask questions and express boundaries.)

Edith ~ Female Identifying, Age 35-45, A trusted servant.

REHEARSAL/SHOW SCHEDULE

5-6 Rehearsals will take place during the weeks of the 1/25th and the 2/1st (times and dates somewhat negotiable)

Tech is from 2/3 6pm-10pm (non-negotiable)

These are the show dates: 2/5 at 8:00pm, 2/12 at 6:30pm, 2/14 at 5:00pm. (non-negotiable)

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

A self-tape of a one 1-2 minute dramatic monologue in an RP accent and/or other British dialect is preferred.
