West End and Broadway star Marisha Wallace has joined the upcoming one-night-only London concert of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Once On This Island, set for February 8 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London's West End. Wallace, most recently seen on both sides of the pond as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, will play Erzulie.

As previously announced, the performance will also feature Alex Newell reprising their Broadway performance as Asaka, Dujonna Gift (Two Strangers...) as Ti Moune, Melanie La Barrie (& Juliet) as Papa Ge, Cedric Neal (Guys and Dolls) as Agwe, Jamael Westman as Daniel Beauxhomme, Casey Al-Shaqsy as Andrea Deveraux, Waylon Jacobs as Armand Beauxhomme, Ako Mitchell as Tonton Julian, and Wendy Mae Brown as Mama Euralie. The ensemble will include Elliot Broadfoot, Jerome Lincoln, Lindo Shinda, and Tamara Tare. Casting is by Ben Armstrong Casting.

“I have wanted to be part of Once On This Island for many years," says Wallace in a statement. "I used to listen to the original cast recording in the car on my way home for drama school. It is a beautiful story and the music will blow you away. I saw Alex Newell in the Broadway revival and thought I must do that show one day, and here we are. So excited to be joining the incredible London cast!”

The concert staging is being directed by Annabel Mutale-Reed, with music direction by Jordan Li-Smith, choreography by Sarah Golding, sound design by Harry Greatorex, lighting design by Simisola Majekodunmi, and associate music direction by Lewis Bell. The performers will be accompanied by the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, under the baton of Li-Smith.

Broadway's most recent revival of Once On This Island was nominated for nine 2018 Tony Awards, winning for Best Revival of a Musical. The musical, featuring a book and lyrics by Tony winner Lynn Ahrens and music by Tony winner Stephen Flaherty, is based on the novel My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy.
