As the Accountant - Theatricals, you'll be responsible for supporting the creation of accurate and timely financial records for Concord Theatricals worldwide.

What you'll do: This position is responsible for maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk. This position maintains the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensures that reported results comply with GAAP. This position specifically is responsible for reporting and efficient processing of Expenses and Payables, supporting the Worldwide Theatricals business and interfacing across Corporate and other divisions. This position is responsible for interfacing with vendors, issuing payments and clearing reconciling items.

Outline of Specific Functions:

  • Review expense activity for accurate data integrity, accrual-based accounting and amortization; comparing monthly, quarterly and yearly results to budget, re-forecast and prior year
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts such as Prepaid Assets, Broadway Investments, Fixed Assets, Intangible Assets; Booking journal entries, setting up asset tables, performing investigation on stale items and clearing all items in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain AP Aging, vendor accounts and process worldwide invoices and vendor bills, working with Theatricals business areas to ensure accurate coding and accrual based accounting
  • Interface cross-divisionally with stakeholders across Concord Finance (Corporate, Concord Label Group Publishing, Originals, etc) to maintain intercompany balances and record activity for centralized functions such as Payroll/HR costs and Corporate Allocations
  • Assist with review of vendor setup; create payments to clients/vendors (including check and ACH) in NetSuite and online banking platform. Reconcile payments with bank and compile reporting.
  • Assists Corporate Accounting and Tax teams with regulatory deliverables, such as IRS forms 1099 and 1042, sales tax, unclaimed funds/escheatment process, external audit, etc.
  • Support Theatricals Accounting team and management with additional duties as assigned


What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field required. Masters degree in accounting/business, a plus.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment required, or at least 1 year in public accounting.
  • Interest in pursuing CPA or accounting certification a plus.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Prior entertainment industry experience a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a variety of projects in a busy department
  • Strong organizational skills required, along with the ability to show initiative, take on new responsibility, and follow through on projects required
  • Continuous improvement mindset; Ability to redesign close and transactional data and processes to meet evolving business demands and enhance automation and systems capabilities required
  • High level of attention to detail required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills required in order to work with others across the organization.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and advanced functions.
  • Prior experience with banking portals or in NetSuite ERP or IBM TM1 Cognos EPM a plus.
  • Interest in Theatre, Music or Performing Arts strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $67,000-$85,000

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.

SALARY

$67,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
