DESCRIPTION

Principal duties and responsibilities:

· Lead, guide, and facilitate communication between the production department and sound and video/projections designers.

· Work with designers and Production Managment to advance shows, plan and implement designs, and to prep and provide equipment necessary to tech and run shows.

· Assist in any consultation regarding system layout and on-site troubleshooting of that system.

· Liaise with MSM Recording staff and supervise over hire staff in the preparation, load-in/out, and maintenance of the production.

· Assist sound and projection designers during tech process, making suggestions and sharing ideas to solve problems, improve product, and facilitate changes when needed.

· Responsible for reading show reports, rehearsal schedules, and production calendars. Follow-up on applicable details/notes.

Qualifications and skills:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theatre or related field / equivalent experience is preferred.

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical theatre is preferred.

· Team player: works closely with Production Department Heads, Production Department Staff, Stage Managers and Production Supervisor.

· Familiarity with safety protocols for theatrical productions required.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Strong organizational skills.

Job Details:

· This work is performed under a collective bargaining agreement with IATSE Local 1.

· The AV Lead does not have a set schedule, and may be required to work evenings and weekends
