The production officially opens Sept. 26 and runs through Nov. 2 at the Main Stage at the Gerding Theater at the Armory (128 NW Eleventh Ave.)
Rick Lewis will serve as musical director and Kent Zimmerman will choreograph.
Here's how Portland Center Stage bills the show, "Winner of six Tony Awards, this groundbreaking musical, loosely based on the career of The Supremes, takes you to a revolutionary time in American music history where three friends form The Dreamettes and learn hard lessons about love, trust and the changing tastes of the American public."
In addition to the three original Dreamettes, Antoinette Comer will play Michelle Morris, Rodney Hicks will play Curtis Taylor Jr., David Jennings (After Midnight, Hands on A Hardbody) will play Jimmy, Calvin Scott Roberts will play C.C. and Tyrone Roberson will play Marty. Rounding out the ensemble, are Don Kenneth Mason, Gerrin Delane Mitchell, Shalanda Sims, Larry Owens, Terry Lavell, Jonathan Burke, Tatianna Mott, Allyson Tolbert, Jameson Tabor, Joy Martin and Kira Batcheller.
The design team includes scenic designer G.W. Mercier costume designer Sydney Roberts, lighting designer Robert Wierzel and sound and video designer Casi Pacilio.
