Pop song parodist Weird Al Yankovic surprised his September 24 audience at New York‘s Radio City Musical Hall with an out-of-the-blue cameo by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Yankovic was in the middle of his hit “Yoda,” a Star Wars-themed parody of the Kinks’ “Lola,” when he asked the audience to sing the chorus. After a few go-rounds he said, “OK, now just Lin-Manuel.” The clean-shaven multiple Tony winner then dashed out, sang a line, and dashed off again. Though Yankovic omitted Miranda's last name, the audience seemed to recognize him and cheered his appearance.
Miranda makes his quick-shot eight-second appearance at the 2:37 mark:
Miranda later explained in a tweet:
2) We truly believed our screams made Yoda happen.

It was, at that point, the best moment of my life.
Today was a VERY close second. pic.twitter.com/aUq9QKDXU2
