This week on the reboot of American Idol, contestant Ada Vox joined forces with Broadway and Glee alum Lea Michele for a duet of Wicked’s “Defying Gravity.”
The episode featured the Top 24 of the first return season of the reality competition (the original series aired on Fox; the reboot plays on ABC). Vox has quickly broken out as a fan favorite on the show, judged by Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan.
This isn’t Vox’s first time auditioning for the show. Vox auditioned multiple times as Adam Sanders and returned this season as alter-ego drag queen Ada. The 24-year-old singer from San Antonio, Texas, has been performing drag in clubs for about three years.
Michele is best known for originating the role of Wendla in Spring Awakening on Broadway and playing Rachel Berry on the musical comedy series Glee. Earlier this month, she announced that she and Glee castmate Darren Criss would be touring the country on the LM/DC Tour.
