Take a look above at the first trailer for the new remake of A Star is Born, starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. The Warner Bros. film will premiere October 5.
Tony nominee Cooper, who also directs and co-wrote the screenplay, stars as fading country musician Jackson Maine, who discovers Ally (Lady Gaga), an unknown singer with raw talent. Their intense relationship begins to derail as Ally’s career skyrockets. The movie will feature new songs written by Gaga.
The cast also includes Hamilton alum Anthony Ramos, Andrew Dice Clay, and Sam Elliott.
The original 1937 film A Star Is Born was co-written by Dorothy Parker and Alan Campbell, and starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. It was remade in 1954 with James Mason and Judy Garland, then remade again in 1976 with Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand.
Cooper earned a Tony nomination for his performance in the 2014 revival of The Elephant Man; he made his Broadway debut in 2006's Three Days of Rain.
