Film & TV News Watch Alex Edelman Make His National Television Debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Edelman's solo show, Just For Us, enjoyed an Off-Broadway run at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

Comedian Alex Edelman visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert March 11 to share stories of his Orthodox Jewish family, including his Olympian brother, a Nobel-contending cardiologist father, and an agitated mother.

"I am the least interesting person in my family. My brother AJ, and this is true, AJ qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Israel. And when people find that out, they ask me a ton of questions. 'Your brother?' 'Yes.' 'Your brother?' 'Yes.' 'Your brother is an Olympian?' 'Yeah. If you're wondering, turns out it's nurture!'"

Edelman, who helped to establish Jerusalem's first comedy club, Off the Wall Comedy, has been a popular fixture at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and on the BBC. In 2020, he was the head writer for Saturday Night Seder, a virtual celebrity Passover seder held during the pandemic to bolster spirits

Following an Off-Broadway run at The Cherry Lane Theatre earlier this year, Edelman's critically acclaimed Just For Us will play an encore engagement at the Soho Playhouse for six weeks beginning March 14.
