Video: Tamika Lawrence and Ingrid Michaelson Perform at the Miscast 2024 Gala

Tamika Lawrence, on Broadway this past season in The Heart of Rock and Roll, took part in MCC Theater's annual Miscast concert April 15 at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Lawrence offered a roof-raising version of "From Now On" from the musical film The Greatest Showman. Watch the performance from Miscast24, which brought Lawrence's fellow performers to their feet, in the video above.

In the video below, The Notebook composer Ingrid Michaelson delivers a heartfelt medley of "With You" and "What More Can I Say" from, respectively, Pippin and Falsettos.

Miscast—the industry favorite that features Broadway stars performing songs from roles in which they might not be traditionally cast—was available for streaming online through May 12. Performers also included Nicholas Christopher, Gavin Creel, Amber Iman, Brian d'Arcy James, Mykal Kilgore, Jinkx Monsoon, Lauren Patten, Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer, Lea Salonga, Ryan Vasquez, Vanessa Williams, and Joy Woods. Will Van Dyke served as music director.

This year's concert honored MCC Youth Company alum Nicole Suazo and Jason Robert Brown, whose new musical The Connector made its world premiere via the Off-Broadway company.
