The series, which broadcast its pilot in January and is scheduled to roll out a full season this fall, is based on Dick's alternate-history story about life in what used to be the United States after the country lost World War II and was divided between the Greater Nazi Reich and the Empire of Japan.
The original song, about an Austrian flower that blooms even in freezing temperatures, represented the indomitable spirit of the Austrians under Nazi control. In the Amazon TV series the song is intended to reflect the same feeling about the American spirit under similar circumstances.
Jeanette Olsson performs the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic in the series.
The series is executive produced by Ridley Scott ("Blade Runner"), and stars Rufus Sewell, Luke Kleintank and Alexa Davalos.
A premiere date for the series is yet to be announced. The song can be heard under the opening credits, linked here:
